Women’s Pain – The Collective Narrative
How do we change the dialogue and support the healing process with emotional awareness through sound therapy?
Stress is a common experience that can impact our mental and physical wellbeing in various ways. One significant but often overlooked consequence of stress is the manifestation of physical pain in the body. When stress levels become heightened, the body’s natural response triggers a series of physiological changes that can lead to discomfort and pain.
Some common types of pain for women is pelvic pain, period pain or perimenopause. The experience of muscle spasms, bloating, mood changes, hot flushes and bowel or bladder trouble may be exacerbated by the very stress these symptoms cause.
Women’s pain has in the past been greatly dismissed and although the narrative is changing the collective conversation and indeed our inherited beliefs around worthiness still come in to play in this dialogue.
Stress can exacerbate conditions such as back pain, digestive issues, and even contribute to the development of chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia. The body’s response to stress can weaken the immune system, increase inflammation, and heighten sensitivity to pain signals, all of which can contribute to the experience of physical discomfort.
How do you release past stress to ease body pain?
It is essential to address the sources of stress and past trauma resulting in physical symptoms to effectively manage pain related to stress. Incorporating stress-reducing practices such as meditation, exercise, and tuning fork therapy can help mitigate the impact of stress on the body and alleviate associated pain. Women supporting their own needs without feeling guilt or shame is imperative. Putting yourself first does not take away from what you provide for family, friends or create in your career. In fact embracing worthiness and feeling energised will reshape an individual’s life.
By recognising the connection between stress and physical pain, individuals can take proactive steps to prioritise their mental and physical wellbeing. Managing stress levels and implementing healthy coping mechanisms to regulate emotions such as using tuning forks on a regular basis are key to breaking the cycle of stress-induced pain for a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
